about
At the time of writing, that being the 14th of September 2025, I have spent about 11 months learning Finnish.
While it has gone well, and I can read fairly smoothly and accurately, I wanted a website that just shows a little word in whatever
language I'd want and allows me to easily access the definition.
Thankfully, I've found there are a couple, and they're quite better than this in terms of presentation, but I'm still happy I ended up making this
as it has allowed me to dabble more in web development.
Since working on this, I've learned more about formatting and shaping websites using CSS, proper HTML format, and
even a bit about back-end web development as I've been using a simple JSON dictionary and homebrewed Python API made in Flask to access it.
Of course, this little project would be nothing if it weren't for the work over on Wiktionary. I don't entirely know the specific process
or if I need to credit them a specific way, so hopefully this will be alright.
